Algae is a single celled plant life that reproduces rapidly. It has adapted over billions of years to changing environments.
Algae species commonly found in swimming pool water are identified by their colour groups:
* green
* black
* mustard
* pink
When treating algae, it is important to know the characteristics of the algae infestation:
* What type of growth – is it wall clinging or free floating?
* how long has it been present – one day or all winter?
* how much algea is there – can you see the steps or the floor in the shallow end?
When destroying algea in a swimming pool, it is important to note that there are 2 steps involved:
1. Destroy the Algae Growth
2. Remove the Dead Algae
Some helpfull chemicals will be shared on bloggs to follow this one….stay tuned, Larnie.
